Venue and travelThe CL2015 conference will take place in the George Fox building, on the main campus of Lancaster University. The University is situated a short distance to the south of the historic city of Lancaster. Lancaster is easily accessed by road or rail. The nearest major airport is Manchester (MAN). Please see the main University website for: Travel updateImportant news! During the conference, the main entrance to the University will be closed to incoming traffic due to roadworks. (This is the entrance at grid reference J5 on the campus map.) The main drive will still be open to traffic leaving the University. If you are driving to the university, be aware that you must enter via the South-West campus: grid reference I16 on the campus map. This is before the main entrance if you are coming from the M6, but after the main entrance if you are coming from Lancaster city centre. Also note that there is no access to campus via Green Lane (J7 on the map); this road leads only to the Lancaster House Hotel. If you come from the city centre by bus, be aware that the journey will take roughly 5-10 minutes longer than usual. Also, make sure you take a no. 2, 2A, 3, 3A, 4 or X4; no. 41 and 42 will not come up to campus. Buses will be routed past the university drive entrance - you can get off here, but we don't recommend it, as there is a 10 minute uphill walk to the campus! The bus will then go through the South-West campus - you can get off here to be closest to the conference accommodation (Cartmel College). For the George Fox building (main conference venue), you should get off at the Underpass, or on the South / South East Drive (last stop before the Underpass). AccommodationOn-campus accommodation is available to participants who desire it. All rooms are in Cartmel College on the South West Campus(grid reference 66 on the campus map). If you have booked on-campus accommodation, check-in and check-out is at the Lancaster Conferences welcome desk. This can be found on the ground floor of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Building – No. 21 on the campus map (grid reference D5). If you arrive late in the evening, and the building is closed, then you can pick up your room keys at the Security Lodge (no. 34 on the campus map). Breakfast for those staying on campus will be at Barker House Farm (the central building of the Cartmel College complex). Other accommodation options: There are a range of hotels within easy travelling distance of the university.
