Lancaster Summer Schools
in Interdisciplinary Digital Methods

How to register

All three Summer Schools are free-of-charge to attend. However, you will be responsible for the costs of your travel/accommodation.

Please note that numbers for all three events are limited, so it is in your interests to apply as soon as possible. The deadline for registrations for all three Summer Schools is Sunday 8th June 2014.

Registering for the UCREL Summer School in Corpus Linguistics

All PhD students in corpus linguistics who feel they would benefit from attending the UCREL Summer School are invited to apply for a place. UK and overseas students are equally eligible.

Postdoctoral researchers, Masters-degree-level students, and others are also welcome to apply, but in the event of excess demand, priority will be given to PhD students. Otherwise, places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Once you have completed the form, return it to Katarina Pardula by email (preferably; to k.pardula@lancaster.ac.uk) or by post (if necessary) at the following address:

In addition to sending in the form, we also require your supervisor to write to us briefly, confirming that they support your application and that they expect your PhD research to benefit from attending the UCREL Summer School. This letter in support should also be directed to Katarina Pardula, again preferably by email.

(If you are a postdoctoral researcher, please ask your Principal Investigator or other research team leader to write in support of your application.)

Your application is not complete until we have received both your form and the letter from your supervisor.

Registering for the ESRC Summer School in Corpus Approaches to Social Science

All PhD students in any social science discipline with an interest or potential interest in the methods of corpus linguistics are invited to apply to the CASS Summer School. UK and overseas students are equally eligible.

Postdoctoral researchers and Masters-degree-level students are also welcome to apply, but in the event of excess demand, priority will be given to PhD students. Otherwise, places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Registering for the ERC Summer School in GIS for the Digital Humanities

We invite applications from students in the Digital Humanities who are interested in the possibilities afforded by Geographical Information Systems.

To apply for a place on the Summer School in GIS for the Digital Humanities, please download and complete the registration form:

On the application form, as well as providing your personal details you must supply a brief statement (no more than 200 words) outlining your area of research and explaining why you wish to attend the Summer School.

Once you have completed the form, return it to Katarina Pardula by email; k.pardula@lancaster.ac.uk).
